im trying to upgrade my video card for an inspiron 519 desktop if this doesent work do you know what will work|||Yes, your RAM Should be able to support it. It may not if your RAM output it les than 512 Mb.

Where can i buy a 5v 32-bit PCI video card with just a VGA or DVI input?

So all my slots are filled up but the "5v 32-bit PCI" slots and i want another video card so i can use another monitor, any ideas where i could buy one?|||You don't want to use an old non-express PCI video card like the one you linked to. They are horribly obsolete, slow as molasses, and perform like crap.

Does your computer have a PCIExpress 16x slot? If it does, the easiest way to run a triple monitor setup is with one of the new ATI HD5000-series of video cards. They support 3 monitors natively. http://www.amd.com/us/products/technolog…|||Best Buy is a good place for electronics you can also try Nebraska Furniture Mart were the electronics part...

What video card should I get for using my monitor as a TV?

Computer specs: Dell Dimension 4700, 1GB RAM, 3.0GHz CPU, 160GB HD, WinXP Pro, DVD-ROM drive, PCI-Express.

Neither me nor my future wife EVER watch television, just movies, so we don't want to get a TV when we get married in a couple of months. We just want to get a good setup for watching DVDs on the computer.

Right now, I just have the Intel integrated video card which is VGA-only, and the quality on the DVDs isn't so great. Dark colors are washed-out, sometimes the video skips to catch up, etc. I have a 17" Dell Ultrasharp 1704 LCD digital-ready monitor (though I think we'll be getting a 20" widescreen because everything we watch is widescreen).

I want a video card that works well for watching DVDs and DivX files. I don't play any PC games so it doesn't need to be a super high-end card. I just want the cheapest card I can find that does what I need... Could I do something as inexpensive as a Radeon X300, or do I need something like a GeForce 6600, or something even better?|||I like ATI products.

ATI.com

Coach|||There is a site call tigerdirect.com, it has very inexpensive video cards. What is the resoultion set at on your computer? that may have somting to do with the problem. Get a video ccard with DVI (only if you monitor has it).|||if you have money to burn

get a 8800GTS (450 bucks or so)

newest Direct X 10

high defs

or get a Geforce Quadro FX4500

extreme good 3d rendering

if not, get a Geforce 7600 GS

Does anyone know how to use two video cards in one PC, one PCI and one AGP?

Hi, I have been struggling trying to find out how to use two video cards in one computer. I have a AGP (Nvidia Geforce2 MX/MX 400) and a PCI (Trident Video accelerator 9440).

First, I don't know if I have to change or Update the BIOS to be able to use them. Do I?

Second, I don't know if the cards I am using can be used together. Can they?

Third, The AGP card (NVidia) has an S-video port to connect to a television so when I try to change the settings for the other card it shows me two monitors por the display. One for the monitor and one for a TV because of the one card with VGA and S-Video port.

Fourth, The computer shows me a (!) in a yellow circle for the (Trident 9440 card) I think the drivers for this card have not been updated since the age of the cave man. Anyone know of this?

I will appreciate any help. If anyone knows of a good tutorial for using two cards and not a dual card, please let know.

You guys are great!! Thankx you again!|||Update the PCI Trident card drivers.

Go to your BIOS and check if you have an option to select which card to use. Generally AGP motherboards do have an option to select which card you would prefer to use AGP/PCI.

Although, you have two display cards connected, at a time you would be using one.

You can surely check with the BIOS website and look for any upgrades related to BIOS.

NOTE: Beware that updating BIOS in wrong way can result in BIOS chipset unusable so be careful.|||do not use 2 it will be messd up|||there is a new video card type called sli card which can be used two at a time MSI cards have this facility|||I tried all that befor on my Compaq, NO WAY, NO HOW is it going to happen. Just get yourself a good AGP Video Card. As far as the GeForce MX 400, throw that sucker away, that's what my PC came with.(Old 7110US,igot it for free, and have upgraded considerably)

Will EVGA GeForce 8500 GT Video Card - 1GB GDDR2, PCI Express work with a Dell optiplex gx280?

It does not fit in the case but I can leave the case open. I cant find out what size PSU is in this pc so thats why im asking thanks.|||You can go ahead and try it but it is possible that without the case being closed, the computer's cooling system won't work properly and the processor or something could overheat and that would shorten the life of the computer. Components may also be more vulnerable to EM interference if the case is left open. If you are certain you still have adequate cooling and electromagnetic interference protection, you can just leave it open.

Don't say we didn't warn you though if it doesn't work. As a general rule, low profile and laptop computers weren't meant to support awesomely powerful hardware. If you really need to do killer video, you might as well find a mid tower and make room for it. Especially if you are looking to do gaming, it won't be long before something else comes along that a tiny little 280 won't support.|||no, it will not fit. You need a low profile video card. (does not support VGA CARD) upgraded and installed a video card to my gateway...?

I have a gateway 831GM desktop (bought it in 2005) So i decided to upgrade the video card with a GeForce 7200 GS (Nvidia product) I placed it in the PCI express x16 slot, secured and fastened. So when i went to turn it on I placed the CD in, and i get a message saying "Sorry but we do not support your VGA card" I dont know what to do? should i call gateway support? or Nvida?? Or is there another alternative? Thanks!|||You need to enter BIOS and set Primary Display to PCI Express. The monitor has to be connected to the 7200 GS.|||Download the latest drivers for your graphics card from http://www.nvidia.com and install those.

Question about getting a new pci video card?

EVGA 01G-P1-N948-LR GeForce 9400 GT Video Card - 1GB DDR2, PCI (Dual Link) Dual DVI, HDTV, VGA, Low Profile.......i play games like everquest WoW and microsoft flight simulator and a want one that will run these game alright and i also wanna run windows 7 aero.......any ideas?|||Honestly it's gonna be worth popping the extra money for a new motherboard and getting yourself into the PCI Express x16 standard. You'll get a hell of alot more bang for your buck that way.
