It says 3PCI slots so does that mean i can use a PCI video card? Thanks||| Yes.Your computer can with the graphic with video in can.But they run in different prices.|||pci is slow...but yeah you can put up to 3 on there....go with the AGP connector for a video card.|||Yes, if you want PCI video card, not PCI-Express.

your computer cannot support PCI-Express, it uses AGP 8x graphic card.|||You could use the PCI video card if you wish. An AGP video card I believe would do better job if your into gaming. AGP(Accelerated Graphics Port) is primarily for video graphics with the PCI being a general purpose slot which can be used with a variety of cards(Example: video, sound, network etc..).|||Yes, the ATI 3850 AGP is the fastest video card solution for your computer. You don't have PCI-ExpressX16 only PCI which isn't the same. AGP is faster than PCI. Just make sure you have a power supply with 400watts and at least 30amps on its +12V rail because that is what a systen running that video card needs. Should show you what your PSU has on the sticker on the PSU. If you don't have a big enough power supply then go with one of these. :

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…

If you buy an ATI 3850 make sure you get the AGP card and not the PCI-ExpressX16 card. It comes in both versions and you don't have a PCI-ExpressX16 slot.

Funny thing cuz I build and sell computers and I gave my daughter and her new husband a fresh built computer I was gonna sell when they moved back here 4 years ago. Has an ATI 9800Pro that was fine 4 years ago. I'm getting so sick of hearing my son-in-law whining about lagging in the new games that I'm giving them that same exact 3850 video card for Xmas along with a Corsair PSU.

Is the PNY GeForce 9500 GT 1024MB PCI-Express 2.0 VGA + DVI Graphics Card a good pc video gaming card?

can it play company of heroes with all the settings on super or the highest it can go?|||off the top of my head i would say yes!

it does depend on what your motherboard is, your RAM, and proccessor cuz just a graphics card wont make games play amazing, i take it though if u have asked this questoin u know that tho lol

hope this helped ☺|||Yes, that is if the rest of your computer specs are also decent enough.

Is this PCI->VGA card 98 compatible?

I'm working on someone's computer and it is absolutely ancient...the onboard VGA port just quit on it and it is running windows 98 and he isn't willing to upgrade to a real OS :P. I am going to get an PCI VGA card (PCI not PCI-E because they are cheaper and it is for a fishfinder etc). Is this card compatible with 98? Hardware compatibility isn't my thing.

Thanks,

If i add this PCI video card can i?

if i add another PCI Geforce mx 4000 to my pc could i use 3 displays running VGA? this is what i have 1 on board Intel i810 and one PCi Geforce mx 4000. i am now running 1 17in Compaq 7600 on the Geforce mx 4000 and 1 17in KDS xtreme Flat on the on board Intel i810.i have another 17in display.so if i add another PCI video card can i use ALL 3 of them at one time and use the S-video for my TV?|||You should be able to use the two PCI cards together for sure. I'm not sure about the integrated graphics, though. I believe the i810 graphics use an internal AGP bus, so you should be ok. Also, a word of warning - many programs (Cyberlink PowerDVD, for example) have trouble handling setups that include more then two video adapters. Just a heads up on that.|||Yes, as long as the cards are the same model number, in your case MX4000's, it will work just fine. Well, as long as you just throw the CD that comes with the new card away, or at least never put it into your CD-ROM drive, then it will.

Is a MSI N9800GT-MD1G NVIDIA 1GB PCI Express Video Card VGA good for gaming?

It's ok, but it's a bit outdated now. You'd be better off with something like an NVidia Geforce GTX260 or an ATI Radeon HD4870, HD5770 or HD5850. It all depends on how much you want to spend.|||It will play pretty much everything, but at lower frame rates on graphic intensive games and on low - medium settings.

It is the low end of gaming video cards right now.

If it's a good deal for you, you could buy it and use it for the mean time until you could save up and purchase a much better one, but if you love gaming with good quality and want a decent frame rate, wait abit longer and just purchase a card like suggested above.

The ATI Radeon HD 4890 is also a good card with a benchmark score of almost 3 times the 9800 and comparable to the Nvidia 285.

No video output vga pci slot?

i have a dell that used to have a dvi slot for its output video. i no longer have that card i happen to have a vga card that goes into the pci slot. i pulled in the vga and i get no video output. is this possible to fix?|||try the vga card on another PC; A friends maybe. If it works, Check the connection or the your PCI slot. if not then its simply dead.

Will the NVidia GeForce 8500 GT VGA/DVI/TV 512MB PCI-E Video Card work on my inspiron 519?

im trying to upgrade my video card for an inspiron 519 desktop if this doesent work do you know what will work|||Yes, your RAM Should be able to support it. It may not if your RAM output it les than 512 Mb.

Where can i buy a 5v 32-bit PCI video card with just a VGA or DVI input?

So all my slots are filled up but the "5v 32-bit PCI" slots and i want another video card so i can use another monitor, any ideas where i could buy one?|||You don't want to use an old non-express PCI video card like the one you linked to. They are horribly obsolete, slow as molasses, and perform like crap.

Does your computer have a PCIExpress 16x slot? If it does, the easiest way to run a triple monitor setup is with one of the new ATI HD5000-series of video cards. They support 3 monitors natively. http://www.amd.com/us/products/technolog…|||Best Buy is a good place for electronics you can also try Nebraska Furniture Mart were the electronics part...

What video card should I get for using my monitor as a TV?

Computer specs: Dell Dimension 4700, 1GB RAM, 3.0GHz CPU, 160GB HD, WinXP Pro, DVD-ROM drive, PCI-Express.

Neither me nor my future wife EVER watch television, just movies, so we don't want to get a TV when we get married in a couple of months. We just want to get a good setup for watching DVDs on the computer.

Right now, I just have the Intel integrated video card which is VGA-only, and the quality on the DVDs isn't so great. Dark colors are washed-out, sometimes the video skips to catch up, etc. I have a 17" Dell Ultrasharp 1704 LCD digital-ready monitor (though I think we'll be getting a 20" widescreen because everything we watch is widescreen).

I want a video card that works well for watching DVDs and DivX files. I don't play any PC games so it doesn't need to be a super high-end card. I just want the cheapest card I can find that does what I need... Could I do something as inexpensive as a Radeon X300, or do I need something like a GeForce 6600, or something even better?|||I like ATI products.

Does anyone know how to use two video cards in one PC, one PCI and one AGP?

Hi, I have been struggling trying to find out how to use two video cards in one computer. I have a AGP (Nvidia Geforce2 MX/MX 400) and a PCI (Trident Video accelerator 9440).

First, I don't know if I have to change or Update the BIOS to be able to use them. Do I?

Second, I don't know if the cards I am using can be used together. Can they?

Third, The AGP card (NVidia) has an S-video port to connect to a television so when I try to change the settings for the other card it shows me two monitors por the display. One for the monitor and one for a TV because of the one card with VGA and S-Video port.

Fourth, The computer shows me a (!) in a yellow circle for the (Trident 9440 card) I think the drivers for this card have not been updated since the age of the cave man. Anyone know of this?

I will appreciate any help. If anyone knows of a good tutorial for using two cards and not a dual card, please let know.

You guys are great!! Thankx you again!|||Update the PCI Trident card drivers.

Go to your BIOS and check if you have an option to select which card to use. Generally AGP motherboards do have an option to select which card you would prefer to use AGP/PCI.

Although, you have two display cards connected, at a time you would be using one.

You can surely check with the BIOS website and look for any upgrades related to BIOS.

NOTE: Beware that updating BIOS in wrong way can result in BIOS chipset unusable so be careful.|||do not use 2 it will be messd up|||there is a new video card type called sli card which can be used two at a time MSI cards have this facility|||I tried all that befor on my Compaq, NO WAY, NO HOW is it going to happen. Just get yourself a good AGP Video Card. As far as the GeForce MX 400, throw that sucker away, that's what my PC came with.(Old 7110US,igot it for free, and have upgraded considerably)

It does not fit in the case but I can leave the case open. I cant find out what size PSU is in this pc so thats why im asking thanks.|||You can go ahead and try it but it is possible that without the case being closed, the computer's cooling system won't work properly and the processor or something could overheat and that would shorten the life of the computer. Components may also be more vulnerable to EM interference if the case is left open. If you are certain you still have adequate cooling and electromagnetic interference protection, you can just leave it open.

Don't say we didn't warn you though if it doesn't work. As a general rule, low profile and laptop computers weren't meant to support awesomely powerful hardware. If you really need to do killer video, you might as well find a mid tower and make room for it. Especially if you are looking to do gaming, it won't be long before something else comes along that a tiny little 280 won't support.|||no, it will not fit. You need a low profile video card. Something like http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814139041

(does not support VGA CARD) upgraded and installed a video card to my gateway...?

I have a gateway 831GM desktop (bought it in 2005) So i decided to upgrade the video card with a GeForce 7200 GS (Nvidia product) I placed it in the PCI express x16 slot, secured and fastened. So when i went to turn it on I placed the CD in, and i get a message saying "Sorry but we do not support your VGA card" I dont know what to do? should i call gateway support? or Nvida?? Or is there another alternative? Thanks!|||You need to enter BIOS and set Primary Display to PCI Express. The monitor has to be connected to the 7200 GS.|||Download the latest drivers for your graphics card from http://www.nvidia.com and install those.

Question about getting a new pci video card?

i know pci videocards are obsolete nowadays but thats all my computer can use........i am trying to decide between 2 cards....my monitor supports both dvi and hdmi......the only card i can find with hdmi is a Diablotek AP4350 512MD2-H VTX Radeon HD 4350 Video Card - 512MB DDR2, PCI, DVI, VGA, HDMI......i cant find any reviews on it and was wondering if it was a good one? the other card supports dvi and iassume it is a good one

EVGA 01G-P1-N948-LR GeForce 9400 GT Video Card - 1GB DDR2, PCI (Dual Link) Dual DVI, HDTV, VGA, Low Profile.......i play games like everquest WoW and microsoft flight simulator and a want one that will run these game alright and i also wanna run windows 7 aero.......any ideas?|||Honestly it's gonna be worth popping the extra money for a new motherboard and getting yourself into the PCI Express x16 standard. You'll get a hell of alot more bang for your buck that way.

Where can i get a Visiontek Radeon X1550 / 256MB PCI video card in Australia??

Is there a low cost adapter that can take my video card's VGA port and make it into two?

3 beeps after installing PCI VGA video card?

I want to run a second monitor of my desktop PC, which currently only has one VGA out port.

So I installed a PCI expansion card with a second VGA out into one of the PCI slots.

I then connected my primary monitor to the existing VGA port and the second the the newly installed card.

After powering on the PC, I get three post beeps and nothing on either screen.

I know 3 beeps indicates a video problem but what have I done wrong?|||have you made sure they are both in properly, and was you anti static free when you fitted the new one. Is the old vga port built into the motherboard or is it a card?

PCI Video card as well as built-in VGA?

I'm in a situation where I NEED two monitors to display the same thing simultaniously in 2 different locations ( one at the "recording desk" and the other in a sound proof booth.)

I've tried a Video Splitter Cable but the definition is... poor to say the least.

If I add a PCI video card to my motherboard and use that for ONE monitor, will the other monitor work off the built-in VGA Out? At the same time? Still with good definition?..|||You can use both intergrated video and your PCI card at the same time. Hook up both monitors, right click desktop>properties>settings. There should be a drop down menu where it shows the different display adapters. Adjust the settings to your likings.|||If you have XP or Vista then yes it will work fine|||Actually only one VGA card can work at a time.

Another option could be using a laptop on the recording desk and hook up a monitor with that and then use dual monitors.

OR

You could use something like Symantec PC Anywhere and both of you could get connected. This way both of you can even share one screen.|||I think the splitter idea just won't work because there's not enough data to drive two displays.

can you buy a video card that supports two displays?

and don't forget the difference between digital and analogue.

Do I have to take my agp vga card off my motherboard if ever I will install a pci-e video card?

My motherboard has both agp and pci-e slots. Can I leave the existing agp vga card there?|||its best to save space inside your computer so its recommended to take out your old card and installed your new one|||you can leave it there, if you want....but you can only use one at a time. Plus, leaving it there takes up valuable space for airflow...so it would be best to take it out.|||The simplest of answers is yes. Its just like when a motherboard has both SD-RAM and DDR RAM memory slots, you can only use either or. if you have both AGP and PCI-E slots in your PC yes you can have 2 cards installed but you can only use one card at a time. Sorry

What is the Tv-port used for? and is the DVI-I port for the monitor hock up?

You can click on the second pic on the top if you want to see what one is called what...|||That blue VGA port is where you plug in an analog monitor. Current VGA cables also come w/ blue connector. TV-out port usually connects to an adapter such that you can connect a typical TV video cord with RCA plugs. The larger port is for digital LCD screen. It uses a different cable/connector.|||The VGA port is for connecting an analog VGA monitor (most monitors have this) The S-Video/TV port is for connecting to a device that accepts an svideo cable like a TV or VCR. The DVI port is for connecting to a DVI capable monitor, many LCD and some newer TVs have this as well as some high end CRTs.

Is My Pci E broken or is it my video card?

ok while putting in my video card i had to be a lil rough with it and i was worried because all the plugs i have DVI, VGA, HDMI will not work because my screen does not receive a connection from it for some reason. i suspect i might have done something to my pci e or my video card is broken my screen was fine because it was working before i put in the new graphics card my graphics card is a ATI Radeon 4770 Series Please and Thank You|||You should NOT force any card into any slot, they slide in with just a little wiggling. I install several dozen a day.

I agree with the other guy, the slots AND the cards are relatively robust and will handle a BIT of clumsiness.

It is simple to figure out. Try the card in another PCIe16 slot or if you only have one slot, try the card in another computer. OR try someone else's card in your slot. That will determine whether the issue is the card or the slot (motherboard).

Go into the bios and make sure that it is set to card as opposed to integrated. Make sure you follow directions for the install properly In some cases, you install the card first, then the drivers, in other cases you install the drivers first. (when all else fails, read directions). Go into device manager then display adapters and make sure you see your new card, not the old one.

I doubt the screen i s broken, but thank you for mentioning it. You should also try with another hdmi or dvi cable. MOST techs prefer dvi plus spidf on our desktop boxes because it is a better, more robust connection, but we usually use hdmi on our notebooks to cut down on clutter. Make sure you use ONE cable at a time, not multiples like on a TV.|||I've been a little rough with my cards when building computers and they worked fine. Most likely your video card is defective.

How can i use my VGA monitor to install my DVI out PCI card drivers? *read description*?

i have a HP Compac desktop DC series, i just bought a DVI out / S-Video out PCI card. i dont have the DVI cable yet so no monitor has been plug into it yet. i wanna install the drivers but when i plug in the card my VGA monitor won't display anything. how can i install da drivers? i wanna use both outputs to display the same image on two monitors, 1 VGA and 1 DVI but dont know how to do this|||I think you bought a video card to outsmart the onboard graphics card. It would be a better idea to return the PCI card and get a PCI Express or AGP Video card (depending on what your motherboard has) and then it will be supported, plus you will have better graphics performance.

If you don't have a PCI Express or AGP, then it would be easier if you get a DVI to VGA converter. If you want a better graphics card, then disable the onboard video card and use the PCI, but you would be missing out if you have a AGP or PCI Express.|||Enter the BIOS and set the PCI video to be enabled instead of the onboard graphics.. It will work without drivers, the resolution will just be out of whack until you install the drivers.

Can I run dual monitors on my PC with one video card that has VGA and DVI output?

I just bought a new monitor and I am trying to extend my desktop across them both. I currently have an ATI 9700 AGP gfx card and tried installing a second card (an old Voodoo3 PCI) and running each monitor on its own card. I am having trouble with that, so now I am just considering buying a new card (Leadtek WinFast A7600GT probably) in hopes that it will solve my problems.

I just want to make sure I can run the dual monitors off that new card if I do purchase it.

Or if anybody has any recommendations on making the cards that I have now work? Computer recognizes them both, sets the AGP ATI card as primary and works on one monitor. But whenever I go to settings in my display controls and try to enable the 2nd monitor on the voodoo3, my computer freezes and crashes.|||The 7600GT will have dual monitor support.

My guess is that the old drivers for the Vodoo 3 are causing the crash.

I didn't know anyone still had one of the Vodoo 3's. :)|||YES and it is wonderful!!!, the only problem is that you have to buy an adapter (DVI to VGA) for a monitor if it only has VGA.

Can I use my on-board VGA and a second video card to run two monitors at the same time?

I want to run two monitors on the same machine, and I want to know if I can use my on-board video (which I'm currently using now) as monitor "1" and add a video card (PCI or AGP) and run that as monitor "2". Is this possible and relatively easy? I know XP can handle it, and I know how to configure them once they might be both running together, but I just want to know if the hardware issue will work.|||Yes. It will show up on the windows display screen. Using more than 2 cards, however can cause some issues that need specialized drivers.

Long story short, just fully install both cards and go to the display properties screen.

If they are nvidia cards, you can use nview for a superior multi monitor setup.|||If you have an Intel Graphics card or Nvidia card you already have the cabability to do this already. Unless you have a really old system. :)

Just attach another monitor and enable the second monitor with display properties or the display switching toggle key ... Fn + F8 or something similar.

There are several modes you can do. Extended Desktop, which makes the display twice as large, dual display which is the same content on both displays. You need to decide how you want your display to look.

But if you have a dual display device already, I do not recommend trying to add another video card. You probably already have the capability to do have two displays already if your system is younger than 2 years old.|||Wow Whats wrong with these people, no you can't use the onboard video, since the motherboard can only output video to either the onboard video or the dedicated graphics chip (video card) Your only option is to get a video card that has that capabilities and do that. Dont listen to these people it will not work.|||You can use the soft wear and hard wear are available in the market|||I agree... unless you have a dual output video card its one or the other..

If you just want to watch movies and junk then yes its pretty good.|||It seems pretty basic, 512MB of DDR3 memory & 600MHz could be higher an , but it should work.

Therefor, I would recommand you getting a slightly better graphic card, if you are a intensive gamer.

Will a NVIDIA GEFORCE 6200 64MB PCI-EXPRESS VGA VIDEO CARD Work on the sims 3?

I found this video card for a great price on ebay and i was wondering if it will work on the sims 3 and will it work good?|||I don't really think so, no.|||That is a very weak, older card. I seriously doubt you will be able to run Sims 3 (or 2) using that card, even if you have a fairly fast CPU and decent memory.

You really don't want to go cheap on video cards, because you'll end up regretting it after seeing how poorly it runs games. Spend the $200 to $300 on a good video card that will handle games with ease and make you proud. And be careful when buying video cards online! I use ebay all the time as a buyer and seller, but I would NEVER buy a video card on ebay, even if the seller claims it to be new. Instead, consider getting your card from CompUSA.com or from NewEgg.com. Those two computer sites sell great computer parts at lower prices than you'll find elsewhere, plus they both have amazing customer service if you have any questions or concerns. Their shipping is fast and not overpriced, too. I personally prefer CompUSA, because there's a store located not far from me--if they don't have it in stock, they can order it for free so I don't pay shipping, and I can just pick it up.

I hope this helps!|||umm well i have a geforce 6200 256mb version in one of my desktops and it can play bf2 with out an issue. you would be best with getting a 8400 pci card from tigerdirect.com and that would play the sims 3

Will a HP pavilion a744x run a GeForce 9400 GT Video Card - 512MB DDR2, PCI, Dual Link DVI, VGA, HDCP Capable?

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/docum…

There are only PCI slots, so, the 9400GT PCI card will work but NOT a PCIe card like the GTS 250. Take note that the PCI bus is inherently slow for 3D graphics. Do not expect anything spectacular from the 9400GT especially in PCI format. The slow PCI bus just bottlenecks any good graphics card.|||You can't speed up the PCI bus. That is why 4x/8x AGP came out, then PCI express 1.0/1.1 and currently the fastest graphics port is PCIe 2.0. Your processor is already on LGA775 format. It won't be hard to find a retail motherboard (mATX size) that has PCIe graphics port.

Is this HIS H545HR2G Silence Radeon HD 5450 Video Card - 2GB DDR3, PCI-Express 2.1, HDMI, VGA, DL-DVI, DirectX?

is this a good card for gaming for the price or is there something better for around it i have a machine that came with a ati radeon hd 5450 512 mb card in it and i want an upgrade. i bought the geforce galaxy gt430 1gb and read some reviews that its not great for gaming can someone help please.|||No Radeon 5450 is considered a gaming card, it's a POS, the GT 430 is actually better, though neither card is very good for gaming.

If you want a video card that can run newer games at least decently, You're going to have to step up to a Radeon 5750 or GeForce GTS 450 at the very minimum. Don't waste your time and money on crap video cards.|||that is a 2.i PCIe the 5770 2.1 is here http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/…

Dual vga out video card?

ok i have a imb 8215MUB (link at bottom), and i need to get dual display with extended monitor on the 2nd. i have figured out that i am going to have to install a video card, but i really don't know much about them. i have been looking at cards all day and i am still very confused.

1) i am finding vid cards that say dual vga but when i look at the picture i only see one vga port. is there something I'm missing here?

2) i'm seeing in a lot of cases the card will require 250w. my power supply only out puts 225w. but i have read in some places that people are using 225w to supply a 250w card. all i can say is "what?"

3) i think i have a free pci AND a free pci-e slot. is the only difference between these performance and speed?

if any of these questions can be answered you will be my best friend and i will send you a cookie in the mail ( +Shipping and handling ) but if you can make a valid suggestion for a card i will bow down and call you my guru along with a $50,000,000 check in the mail ( check will bounce ) i don't need a bad a$* card. I'm not playing games or anything. the most strenuous thing i will be doing on it is spread sheets ( and of coarse the hog of a windows desktop )

"3) i think i have a free pci AND a free pci-e slot. is the only difference between these performance and speed?" - Yes, just like the performance and speed of a wheelbarrow and a Porshe.

Now, on to your "problem". To add to the above problems, you also have a Small Form Factor (SFF) computer. This will require a half-height or low - profile card to fit in the case.

So you need a dual port, low-profile, PCI video card that will run in a computer that only has a 225w power supply! These are very scarce and expensive. I found one at Tiger Direct: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/… Sparkle RP95GT1024D2LHP GeForce 9500 GT Video Card (Refurbished)

Old PCI video card in modern motherboard doesn't POST.?

I'm turning one of my PCs into a server. The mainboard is an ABIT AN8-SLI which runs fine with a PCI-E video card. To reduce power consumption I'm trying to use an old PCI VGA card in a standard PCI slot. The BIOS is set to try PCI before PCI-E video.

With just the PCI card, the fans whirl then stop. LED code 8.7 (check CPU core voltage). I've tried two PCI VGA cards with the same results.

It's almost as if this mainboard requires PCI-E video to be installed.|||Yes, I'd try a different PCI slot for the video card(s)

Have you tried putting a network card, modem or something in the problem slot to see if the POST still fails?|||Can you verify that other standard PCI devices work on the same slot?

What do i do in the bios menu to change from vga to pci when installing a new video card. no viewable screen?

You can't change it. Your computer is either agp or pci, this means you cannot install a pci graphics card into a motherboard that only has a vga slot, you need to get a new motherboard with a pci slot.

What kind of slot do I have for a video card? PCI, PCI-E, or VGA?

I would like to get a new video card (my current integrated Intel Pentium one isn't too good for games).

My OS is Windows XP Professional and the computer model is a Dell OptiPlex GX280.

Pci dual head vga/dvi video card hooked to 2 lcd displays shows only black screens?

trouble shooting steps: Im working with an XP machine, the card is supposed to be compatible with this OS.I installed a new 450 watt power supply.I uninstalled the onboard video drivers, disabled the onboard chipset in device manager; installed new drivers with cd and tried to open nVidia desktop manager but it wont open in control panel and isnt showing in start menu.when I connect the monitors to the dual head card both screens just show black, no desktop or even dos screens. Please any suggestions are welcome. I need help.|||Remove the nVidia Card, restart the PC, go into BIOS and rest to factory default, turn off, start PC up and see if the display come on with onboard video, if yes, shut down, plug in nVidia Card and start up, dont do anything with the onboard video settings.

Desktop - on board vga card, and PCI-E video card not working?

I've recently had to reinstall my motherboard and now i do not get a video signal from neither the on board vga card or my PCI-E nvidia card. the PC turns on but nothing is displayed on the screen. any ideas?|||If neither video output works, it almost sounds like it's your monitor or your cable. If possible you may want to try another monitor if one is available.

Then if I still had the problem, I would double check all connections (including the cable plugged into the back of your monitor) and make sure the PCIe card is seated all the way in the slot and the power is connected, also if possible check your monitor on another PC, as monitors can go bad and it could be a coincedence thing.

Then if that didn't work I would remove the PCIe video card and reset the cmos ( probably by moving a jumper, depends on your motherboard , read the manual that came with the motherboard on resetting cmos) , after that I would only connect the monitor to the vga slot to see if you get a signal ( you need to get one of them working so you can get into your bios and change the settings for your PCIe card) , if not then try connecting the the PCIe card and not the VGA.

If your getting just a blank screen you may want to double check that the brightness is turned up on your monitor.

If none the above fixes it you may need to take it to the local repair shop or call technical support on your motherboard.........hope this helps.|||Most motherboards now have the BIOS option to run onboard graphics only if there isnt a PCI/AGP/PCIe video card installed in the primary PCIe x16 slot. There's a possibility that the BIOS setting is set to onboard only or PCI only, so you may want to try removing the video card entirely and connect your monitor directly to your onboard video port. From here, if you get to the BIOS screen, you should be able to change the graphic's port option.

If you still don't get video, try reseating your video card, or if you don't already have it in the top PCIe x16 slot, raise it to the main slot (Closest to the CPU) and try again. If you're using a PCIe card that requires external power, make sure you have it plugged into your power supply. You'll know if your system doesn't have adequate power to the GPU when you see a little red LED on the back of the GPU. There will be a green LED if the power requirement is met. Also check to make sure you have all other power plugs to your motherboard plugged in securely as well just in case.

If nothing works still, contact the tech support for your motherboard, as you may have recieved a DOA board and may need a replacement.|||check your bios , you might have not updated the bios or some setting isnt right . or it could be the driver conflict , or you might have plug in the wrong slot . there are many things you have to check , i would recommend calling whatever brand you bought from (EVGA , FXF ,Saphire ..etc ) and they'll give you really good step-by-step duide ( i hope , sometime you would find someone clueless working there . i know i did .)|||Find the Manual for your PC or Motherboard.Look in BIOS setup section for how to disable onboard video and enable PCI-E.

Try booting without the nvidia card installed and see if it will revert to the onboard video.

How do I get a Dual Monitor set up on Optiplex GX520 with integrated video card?

I have two PCI slots on a low profile case. One PCI is a standard 5 volt slot. I do not know what the other slot is. It is cream like a normal PCI slot but has an extension of about 12 pins next to the normal 12 pin slot. The one VGA connection is integrated into the mother board and I have no AGP slot. If I get another video card for the PCI slot will I still be able to use the integrated VGA connection? Would I be better off getting a dual VGA slot PCI card? We do not use the computers for for gaming. Mostly word processing.|||if you have an integrated port for you monitor and you get a graphics card as well, you CAN have 2 monitors. or possibly up to 6. so what evers in your budget. even getting a card with 1 monitor out port will still get you a total of 2 monitors......|||No. If you put a PCI graphics card it will disable the onboard video automatically. I know Dells. You would have to get two PCI or PCIx cards to get dual output, or a single dual output video card. Is your system SLI capable?

I need a driver for my video card tnt2 m64 32m pci vga?

Please help me I can not find this any place. I even paid for the driveragent.com and still did npot find it. I appreciate it.|||http://members.driverguide.com/driver/de…

Hi I just install a pci e video card loaded the drivers ect every thing works fine when I lookat the propertie

of the driver it states Iam still sharing memory the card is 512mb and I'am sharing about 256mb I thought i diabled everything in the bios , here is what i see under pnp pci config pci/vga snoop disabled under pci express relative items it is set to maximum payload any of these settings causing the sharing of memory, how do I utilize just 512mb for video and the 1gb of system memory Running vista by the way|||This does not in anyway effect your system performance, and if you just feel you want to share less just decrease the payload in the bios. You will share memory regardless no matter what you do, they work together. Just because you have 512mb on video card does not mean you want share any system memory.

Will These Card Work On My Pc EVGA nVidia GeForce GT 220 1 GB DDR3 DVI/HDMI PCI-Express Video Card 01G-P3-1226?

Edit: Not that it'll do you much good with such a useless processor. Perhaps you should find out what other chip your computer can take instead. Early LGA775 boards may only take a Pentium 4, Pentium HT or Pentium D. Later ones can take up to a Core2Quad Extreme - find out what yours can take. Socket LGA775 motherboards are cheap, you can get one that'll take any Core2 chip for £30/$45 but would have to reinstall Windows.

Edit: You have no chance of running those games on more than the lowest settings, if at all with that processor, whatever card you put in it.

Dual Displays connected to dual head pci video card show black screens when connected to?

I put a new pci dual head vga/dvi video card with a dvi/vga adaptor on the dvi connector and connected 2 15 in dell LCD monitors to an XP machine. I also installed a 450 watt new power supply. The new video card shows in device manager. I installed the drivers from the disk but the monitors show only black screens on both sides when both monitors are connected. I also disabled the onboard chipset and removed those drivers but the only desktop display I can get to show up is with one LCD display connected to the onboard vga connector. At one point I could see the NVidia Desktop manager in the control panel and the start menu but now in the control panel I cant get it to open. Video card: PCI and Onboard = Dual monitors?

Ok, I have been doing a ton of research all night. I need some real help from someone professional. I have a radeon that I bought inside my pc which obviously replaced the display from my onboard. But, i really want to use my onboard along with my new video card for two displays. I went to my BIOS. It had the three options: 1. PCI - this is the one I installed 2. PCI - E.... that is PCI express. Also, the one I installed along with something different. Not sure what. 3. Is the onboard one. There is NO option to do both. So, the question is: Is there any hardware or anything I can do or get to give me the option to have two. And please don't give me the crap about buying a card with two VGA outputs. I don't want to spend the money right now. If there is another solution.. i want to use it. Please help me. Thanks!|||nope there is no other way. you will only develop conflicts within the system if you try using both onboard and video card.|||No, I don't think you can do that... it's an either/or sort of thing. I believe you would have a major conflict with the OS software trying to run two different video outputs from different output sources...|||Buy a VGA splitter with X number of outputs.|||You shouldnt need two video cards, Im running two on the same card, But since you dont have that option then you cant do it as far as i know. Maybe check google youtube places like that

Good Luck|||Hi

They way that you get two monitors working is buy two video cards the same (make sure they don't need a clip) and insert them into your computer as I had to do that to get two monitors on mine. I know it's a pain but that's how computers are now. If you were to get any just go to a computer swap meet and pick two up the same size for about $20.00 max it may be less and get them tested down there.

Is the Diamond Radeon HD 2400 Video Card - 256MB GDDR2, PCI, (Dual Link) DVI, VGA, HDTV compatible with my PC?

I have a dell dimension e310. it has an intel Pentium 4 processor which is 2.8ghz. I upgraded it to 2gb of RAM. I'm pretty sure it has 2 PCI slots and 1 PCIe x1 slot (I know it's a little old and doesn't have a PCIe x16 slot). I'm pretty sure my power supply is 230 watts. Right now I have an integrated card and I am in Extreme need of a new card!!!!!!:) Any other info would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Please, Please, Please! tell me this card is compatible!:)

Thanks!|||I would not push your power supply any more. 230 watts is EXTREMELY low and a new powersupply isnt that much. I would suggest one within the range of 450-600w, this would give you plenty of room to grow and could be used in future computers.

I'm surprised you said you don't have a PCI-E or AGP slot on your computer as you stated your motherboard can support/is using DDR2 RAM. My oldest computer's motherboard cannot use DDR2 RAM and yet does have a PCI-E slot. Memory RAM DDR does not relate to the DDR of Video Cards.

Simply put, my desktop lags when playing skyrim and since the graphics card is kind of old, I was wondering if this will suffice in handling it? I also have highspeed internet, so I doubt that's the problem especially in this game, and I have an AMD Athlon 64-Bit Dualcore processor, 2GB RAM, so I believe this should be enough. Should I buy it?

Here's a link to the one I was considering: http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-GF9500GT-1024M-64Bit-DDR2-PCI-E-VGA-DVI-TV-Graphics-Card-3D-games-/170740343273?pt=PCC_Video_TV_Cards&hash=item27c0eae1e9#ht_2506wt_1170

If not this, then what is recommended? Please keep in mind Im on a budget. I dont mind a little lag, but the rate I have currently takes like 2 seconds for the game to react to a command and the frames per second is unbearably low.|||Not really no. You'd be a lot better off with a 5670 Radeon or better for $60-70

IS EVGA nVidia GeForce GTS 250 512 MB DDR VGA/DVI/HDMI PCI-Express Video Card good card?

Im wondering if this graphics card will be able to run call of duty black ops and monday night combat

The requirements for monday night combat are (NVIDIA GeForce 7800 series or ATI Radeon X1900)|||GTS 250 is good enough for these games. It's pretty fast for a sub-$100 card.|||Yeah that's pretty good.

NVIDIA GeForce 6200A Video Card - 256MB DDR, PCI, DVI, VGA, TV Out, Video Card???

Is this a good graphic card to support the newer games that are comming out, ie crysis|||no its very old and its very low end card if you want to play games i say you get a ati 2600xt or 1950pro if you have the right powersupply and don't want to spend lots of cash|||Try and get 512MB in your video card. More would be way better.|||Depends on what fits your computer agp 4x/8x or pci or maybe pic-express but yeah it seems liek a decent card.

Where can I buy a PCI video card?

I'd rather not do it online, it's just a last resort. I'm intersted in something like Sparkle GeForce 8400 GS Video Card - 512MB DDR2, PCI, DVI, VGA, S-Video (found it on TigerDirect), but it's whatevs if it's something different, I just want to run WoW (cata of course) and the Sims 3 on my pathetic computer.

Do stores even sell PCI cards anymore...?|||PCI is outdated, now PCIe is the standard. That 8400GS would be great for WOW and The Sims 3.

http://www.amazon.com/MSI-Geforce-PCI-Ex… or the one on TigerDirect.|||PCI video Cards have always been rare. PCIe is the current standard.|||Bestbuy, fry's, and craigslist!|||yes they do but hard to find I know Staples orders stuff . But the online Tiger and eggs r the best place to find new ones and they may take back if issues

Can I run three monitors off of my nvidia 8300 gs pci graphics card since there is a dvi, vga and s-video slot?

I already have two monitors running off of this graphics card, one occupying the vga and the other occupying the dvi slots on the graphics card. There is still an s-video plug-in open. Would it be possible to run a third monitor off of this graphics card if I used a vga-to- s-video adapter? Has any done this with this graphics card? Also, I was wondering if that weren't possible could I somehow enable my onboard graphics card to be able to use both onboard and vga at once to run the three monitors. The onboard vga port has a plastic cover over it with a do not use symbol on it since it came disable since I got the computer with the nvidia already installed. But, would this still be possible. I don't want to buy another graphics card, so what are my other options if I wanted to run three monitors?|||No. The GPU chip in the 8300GS is designed to support TWO monitors only. You will get no picture on the third display if you attempt to connect one to the S-vid port on that card.

Triple-monitor support did not arrive for consumer-grade (i.e. non-workstation) GPUs until the new ATI Radeon HD5000-series came out late last year. And those will only work with computers that have a PCIExpress 16x slot, not PCI. (And the third monitor must have a DisplayPort jack.).

nVidia also did not come out with Triple-monitor support until a few weeks ago, with their new GTX400-series cards.

I much prefer ATI's HD5000-series because there are games out there written to support image spanning over three monitors, using ATI's Eyefinity technology. If you want triple monitor support, you need to check if your computer has a PCIExpress 16x slot. The best-bang-for-the-buck triple-monitor video card right now is the ATI HD5750, which costs around $130.

EDITED TO ADD:

A splitter can only clone the signal for one monitor into two identical signals. You will not be able to drive the monitors independently using a splitter.

And no, you cannot use the onboard. It is automatically disabled in the presence of a separate vid card to prevent a hardware resources conflict.

Hi, Can I use a ASUS GeForce 210 1GB PCI-E Video Card HDMI+DVI+VGA with asus p5l-mx motherboard? Thanks!?

here is the item,

ebay.com/itm/ASUS-GeForce-210-1GB-PCI-…|||Sure it'll work. Says it right on the mobos site - PCI Express X16... I agree with V. The geforce 210 is absolutely garbage.|||Yes the motherboard has a PCI-Ex16 video card slot

http://ca.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_So…|||Does the board have a 16x PCIe slot? Yes? Then it'll work. Although why you'd want that pathetic turd known as the GT 210 is beyond me.

Can you use the VGA output on your moutherboard with a PCI video card with VGA and DVI out?

I want to have 3 monitors and i was woundering if you could use the vga on the moutherboard along with the two outputs on a pci card so there would be 3 outpust working|||Yes, some computers will allow you to do this.

Just activate all the VGA adapters, then look in Display properties to see if you have three monitor capability.

Can PCI-EXPRESS VGA card be fitted unto a PCI slot?

i want to use a PCI-EXPRESS video card on an already PCI slot system. Thanks|||Not if it does not have a PCI-E video slot.

I can't connect my monitor to my computer/video card (evga nvidia 9800GT 512 MB PCI-E)?

Hi, I recently bought an Acer monitor (X183 HB http://www.target.com/Acer-18-5-Wide-Screen-LCD-Monitor/dp/B001ER6CCI/sr=1-1/qid=1252641725/ref=sr_1_1/176-2519509-8555142?ie=UTF8&search-alias=tgt-index&frombrowse=0&rh=k%3Aacer%20monitor&page=1) so that I can use my custom-built PC. The video card that I have is an evga nvidia 9800GT 512 MB PCI-E video card (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130380). The VGA cable that came with the monitor doesn't connect to the video card output on the PC. I'm very disappointed by this and was wondering if there's an adapter that I need to buy or what I would need to do to connect this monitor to my PC. Thanks.|||You would need to buy a DVI-VGA adapter.

example:

http://www.google.com.au/imgres?imgurl=h…

You will most likely already have this adapter -- many video cards come pre-packaged with one. Take a look in the box that used to contain the video card.|||The video card is a DVI out put, and the monitor is a VGA. click the link and you can buy the adapter.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…|||there should be an emergency vga plug in at the back of your tower/box thing with a cap on it, maybe not, it leads directly to the video card, it should do u good

Will the DIAMOND Stealth Radeon 9250 256MB 128-bit DDR PCI Video Card work with my dell dimension 3000?

i am a small time gamer, and i have a dell dimension 3000, its video cards are limited by the fact that it can only take PCi video cards. will this video card work with my comp?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…

btw my computer monitor only has VGA slot (blue) it does not have the other slot (white). will the graphics on that card still work even without the white cable?

and will it fit with the tower that the dell dimension 3000 has?|||Yes it will...

And yes it will. The white connect is a DVI connector...the card comes with an adapter that allows you to use a regular VGA screen...however u wont need it since the card has the VGA connector

Will my Galaxy 43GGS8HX3SPZ GeForce GT 430 Video Card - 1024MB GDDR3 VGA DirectX11 run BF3?

I downloaded Battlefield 3 to my desktop today, and was attempting to play it; however, I got a message saying Detected NVidia driver version 280.26; minimum version is 285.27; etc... I thought my video card (Galaxy 43GGS8HX3SPZ GeForce GT 430 Video Card - 1024MB GDDR3, PCI-Express 2.0, DVI, HDMI, VGA DirectX 11) would be fine running this game. Any feedback would be nice. I don't have the greatest Video Card knowledge, so any advice would be nice. And also, how can I tell what video card is better? Online they say the minimum requirements for the Beta is: GFX NVIDIA: GeForce 8, 9, 200, 300, 400 OR 500 Series with NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT or better. I don't know where my Vidcard fits in that area. I know it's a 400 series, but I just don't understand why it won't let me play. Thanks in advance.|||And here is my question to you, why don't you just launch the game and see how it is since you already have it downloaded. That message only warns you that you should have the beta driver which supports BF3 (more or less) yet you can perfectly play it on your old driver. Personally after playing it on my old drivers and the new beta ones i saw 0 difference in FPS. Also maybe you are turning the launch of the game too fast? Since it does take quite a bit to get into the server. So yea...you can simply close that message and wait till the game launches.

Should I get an AGP or PCI video card?

I had to open up my old computer because of a noisy fan and noticed the fan on my PNY Verto GeForce 5200 is not spinning. I do have a fan on the side of the case pointed pretty close to the video card, so this may be enough to keep it cool. I haven't had any noticeable graphics problems, so I might not buy a new card.

But if I do need to buy a new card, should I go with AGP or PCI? From what I'm reading, I should stay away from 64-bit cards. I'd like to have both DVI and VGA output as I may upgrade the monitor later on. I don't really use this computer (I have a MacBook) so I don't need a power house (and I don't want to spend a lot of $$) but I want something decent. Newegg has a Nvidia 5200 and 5500 for about the same price. I'm assuming I should go with a 5500, but should I do PCI or AGP (if I get to choose).

I might be upgrading this computer soon and will move the insides to another case in another room that rarely gets used.|||For everyday business use like word processing, e-mail, looking at photos, browsing the web etc it doesn't matter. Any video card can handle that.

But for movies or any gaming at all (even 7-8 year old titles) you'd want AGP. The PCI bus is just ridiculously slow by comparison. By the way, both AGP and PCI are obsolete now. PCI-Express is the current industry-standard interface for video cards.

There isn't any appreciable difference between the GeForce FX5200 and FX5500, both were ok years ago, but crap nowadays. If gaming isn't a concern for this machine, just get a PCI card... 64-bit is fine for those. A 128-bit PCI card costing $75 is still vastly inferior to a $40 AGP or PCI-Express card.

The one advantage of PCI- you can transfer a PCI card to another machine (almost every motherboard has PCI slots, even current ones) whereas AGP video cards can only be used on AGP motherboards.

If you decide to replace your old card, I'd recommend a GeForce 6200, which is available in both AGP and PCI- it's a nice cheap card for older systems.

The Radeon X1550 is another decent PCI card, but it costs about $70 (which is way too much for any PCI card) compared to $45 for the 6200.

LCD monitor PCI video card support?

Hello, I purchased an AOC LCD monitor to replace my old CRT one for my computer. I found out my old ancient Geforce MX4000 PCI video card won't support it though. I am lost because it had the same kind of cable connection VGA I believe that my old monitor has. Is there any LCD monitor I can buy that will support my old card or do I have to upgrade to a whole new machine if I want to use a flat screen. I don't know enough about LCDs, help!|||What do you mean it doesn't support the LCD screen? Explain.

I would say try updating your GeForce drivers. But for best results, a video card upgrade would be recommended. You can get a decent one for like, $40.

Sparkle GeForce 8600 GT / 512MB DDR2 / SLI Ready / PCI Express Video Card is it good?

I have found a Sparkle GeForce 8600 GT / 512MB DDR2 / SLI Ready / PCI Express / DVI / VGA / HDTV / Video Card, and im wondering if it's any good. Also, can u tell me what type of motherboard it would be compatible with. My motherboard has a PCI-E slot on it, but im wondering if thats all you need for this card to be compatible with your PC.

The factory overclocked versions with ddr3 like the ones here are pretty awesome:

http://sg.vr-zone.com/index.php?i=4925

Remember, 256mb ddr3 beats 512mb ddr2.|||Any motherboard with a PCIe x16 slot will do fine.

Because the videocard is so big, I'd be sure the case design gives it adequate cooling.

For mobos, I recommend Asus and Intel, two of the best. A Soyo employee told me so.|||these r on the top side of graphic card.u should get an sli ready mother board, or if your board a pci 16x express slot u will not get full usage.

Upgrading video card. Pci x16 2.0?

I want to upgrade my video card. My motherboard has a pci x16 slot, and I checked the manufacturers website and it doesn't say anything on pci x16 2.0. My question- will a Pci x16 2.0 video card work in a pci x16 slot? Also, most video cards now don't have vga connections, will I need to get a new monitor? |||it shouldnt matter becuase if its pci express its pci express it doesnt matter what the 2.0 stuff is all about, and about vga you can get DVI to VGA converters on ebay for £2-£3 or some video cards come with them included in the box.|||a Pci x16 2.0 video card is backwards compatible to a pci x16 slot, which means that the card is copatible with the slot.

all the PCI express video cards has a DVI slot. for the connection, u just have to go to a local computer store to buy a DVI to VGA adapter. not expensive.

good luck

|||yea it will work with a PCI x 16 slot, it just wont perform to it fullest

no most cards come with a DVI to VGA adapter, or u can buy one for 20 bucks

Where can i get a Visiontek Radeon X1550 / 256MB PCI video card in Australia??

can anyone tell me where i can get a Visiontek Radeon X1550 / 256MB DDR2 / PCI / DVI / VGA / HDTV / Low Profile / Video Card in any state in Aust? preferably in SA??? ive looked almost everywhere on tha net but all i get is stores in the US. if u find one, can you send me the details ; phone, email, web adress ect? thanks (not secondhand)|||try Ebay it works for me

Need PCI-E video card for two monitors, and I'm not a gamer...CHEAP?

I was told by a Dell rep that I need a pci-e video card to run two monitors. By the looking I've done, a lot of emphasis is geared towards gamers, which I am not. If you could list a few that would do the job, I'd appreciate it.

Do they come with two 15 pins VGA's, or do I need an adapter for one of them, as the pics I've seen have one 15 and one white rectangular plug?|||Most cards have dual capability, I'm running some cheap invidia cards for editing using premiere pro spread over two monitors and then including a 400 firewire stream to a third monitor.

Depending on your system requirements, some have the dual 15 pin VGA's and other have the 15 pin VGA and DVI. The square one you describe sounds like DVI. If that is the case an Invidia 256 meg of ram, dual monitor VGA, DVI cost about $50.

Fry's or order one from a net store, don't buy second hand crap|||so u want a crappy one a good one (good for gameing and normel and cheap)

or a EXTREAM ONE GREAT ON GAMEING AND PREFORMANCE TOO EXPENCIVE

i recomend nivida ge force 6200 (256 mb )

it has 1 vga 1 dvi snd 1 s-vidieo

good for gameing and work and great preformance

it cost me like $150

but that came wit instalation|||You do not need pci-e. What you need is a dual head video card and they come on every bus, pci, agp, and pci-e.

Most of them have 1 vga (the 15 pin) and 1 dvi (the white one you spoke of). Most times the video card will come with an adapter to convert the dvi back to vga 15 pin.

For a cheap fix, I'd recommend an eVGA geforce 6200 agp (unless you have a pci-e slot, if so the card comes in pci-e as well). You should be able to find it for about $50-60. They come with the adapter as well.

Would a Asus ENGTS450DIRECTCUTOPD GeForce GTS 450 DirectCU TOP Video Card - 1024MB GDDR5, PCI-Express 2.0, DVI?

would a Asus ENGTS450DIRECTCUTOPD GeForce GTS 450 DirectCU TOP Video Card - 1024MB GDDR5, PCI-Express 2.0, DVI, HDMI, VGA, SLI, DirectX 11, Fermi fit into a Dell GX280 sff pci-e slot?

yes yes i know why would I do that? well i am going to upgrade the motherboard and proccessor later, but for now I would just like to know if It would run. I have a 500 watt power supply so I have that down but I would like to know if I could run this.

my system has 4 gigs of ram and 1terabite and a 2.8Ghz pci

I dont want to hear all the **** about how stupid it is, i know. just like to know if it is possible.|||As I'm sure you already know, the GTS 450 is a dual slot card. It doesn't actually connect to two slots on the motherboard, it just physically occupies the space of two cards and will use two expansion slots in the back of your systems case.

Dual slot cards are right at 1.5" wide and the length and height of that card are 8.54 inches x 4.37 inches.

http://usa.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=5l…

You have the slot and power supply for it, and now you have the dimensions of the card so you should be able to measure inside your case to make sure you have the room for it.|||Yes it should fit in the slot but as you know not in the case properly as it is a small form factor case. How will you secure the top of the video card to your old case?

If using in that case the best low profile card you can use is a Radeon 5550 low profile.

XFX GeForce 7300GS 256MB DDR2 PCI Express x16 Video Card ( S-Video DVI VGA ) - PVT72GWANG support window vista

does this card support windows vista premium and is it a good card? I have a amd 4000+ x2 processor with 1gb ram 350gb hd . will it be good enough to play CS SOURCE or need for speed most wanted at excellent graphics?? PLEASE HELP THANKS!!|||you can use it with vista sure. However, the 7300 is not really a "perfomance" card so it might not be able to run cs:s on max settings (with aa turned up and all) Plus, most cards will take a 30%-50% performance hit just by using the vista drivers. (it might only be the directx10 cards?) I would try and get at least the 7600 gs if you want to game. Or, try the 8600gt as it is fairly cheap now. (got mine for $110) For nvidia cards, the first number designates the series and the second number designates design and purpose. 8500 = 8xxx series for business app. While the 8800 = 8xxx series performance gaming. So the 7300 would be 7xxx for entry-level app, not really gaming.

Would a PCI video Card be better then mine right now?

So would the PCI card play this game with no lag?|||It would definitely make a BIG difference.

You don't have an AGP or a PCI-Express slot in that computer??

A PCI-Express would be better if you could use it.

You would still be bottle-necked somewhat by this card due to the low bandwidth of the standard PCI bus, but still is should be much better than an online graphics adapter.

just in case it matters i have a new HP pavillion p6110y desktop with windows vista, as far as i know the computer has no graphics card (if it does it is not of sufficient quality), it has an Intel G33/G31 Express chipset family chip on the motherboard.|||It will barely run, you should try to get better than recommended specs.

Will this video card work with my PCI slot?

I'm looking for a video card to upgrade from the integrated graphics on my motherboard and I only have PCI and PCI-X expansion slots. On ebay and other places I keep seeing PCI video cards that have 3 tabs on them and my PCI slot only has 2 tabs. The video card is here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ATI-Radeon-9250-PCI-256MB-Dual-VGA-DVI-TVOut-Video-Card-/380253323379?cmd=ViewItem&pt=PCC_Video_TV_Cards&hash=item5888dd4073#ht_1528wt_1139

And my PCI slots look like this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:PCI_Slots_Digon3.JPG

So can I use that video card with my PCI slots or do I have to try and find a different one? Thanks!|||The best card for a PCI slot is the GeForce 9500GT.

However, it's still inferior to a $45 PCI-Express x16 card. If your computer has a PCI-E x16 (or even a PCI-E x1) slot, a card of that type is far preferable to a PCI card.|||You do not want to buy a card for PCI if you have PCI-X slots available.

PCI-Express is a slot specifically designed for higher bandwidth devices like video cards, PCI on it's own, like the picture you linked, are designed for things like sound cards, network cards and other devices that do not require a large data pipeline.

So assuming you have PCI-X 16x, you are going to want to get a PCI-express video card. Which is likely the three-tab cards you were talking about.

What modification is needed to make XFX nVidia GeForce 9500GT 1 GB DDR2 VGA/DVI/HDTV PCI-Express Video Card PV?

what modification is needed to make XFX nVidia GeForce 9500GT 1 GB DDR2 VGA/DVI/HDTV PCI-Express Video Card PVT95GZAFG fit into dell inspirion 530s. Im having a really hard time trying to find one that will fit and how to make it fit. I need to get a new graphics card so i can play cataclysm, new wow expansion. If any of you know a better card let me know!|||MSI Radeon HD5550

Board is half height. The packaging comes with the backpanel thats fits slim pcs.|||You need 2 "low profile" brackets one for the card which has the DVI and HDTV on the mother board (cant be changed) the other bracket for D-Sub port.(placed in the slot next to the card) I'm surprised the XFX doesn't offer a low profile bracket. You might want to get in touch with XFX to see if they have one..but if you look at this card you can see the brackets needed...http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…

You also might want to check the XFX card height...though it looks like a low profile it may not be low enough.|||I just looked this computer up. From what I can see it's a very THIN case. If you can I would get a new case and transfer everything over. I do know that some companies make motherboards that differ from the "standard" ATX motherboards so it might not fit without changing up the posts but I'm sure that would be easier than trying to make a video card fit in a case that thin.|||This is why you don't buy slimline computers. The real serious problem is that your power supply won't power any cards with a decent level of performance. In addition, the air flow in those slim cases is almost non-existent so heat becomes a problem as well. You have a 330W power supply and that is quite limited in what it can control. You're more or less limited to a Radeon HD 4550. Hopefully, you can find one that is low-profile.|||hi nick

after looking at the slimline inspiron 530 ( http://www.dell.com/us/en/dfh/desktops/i… ) ... it looks alot like the acer aspire x3200 which is also slimline... and the main problem with small form factor cases is theres not much space for upgrades especially graphic cards

however manufactuers understand this and low profile cards are whats needed... these are specificly designed for such cases and the "SPARKLE SP95GT512D2L-HP GeForce 9500 GT" is a ideal choice of card... and allthough the image shows the full size bracket you will also receive a "low profile" bracket kit which makes the bracket two thirds of the size and this will then fit ok in your slimline case

in terms of modifications you only need to remove the standard bracket ... use a small pair of pliers and remove the 4 x small bolts that hold the large bracket in place and then the vga part of the card will then fit in a second low profile bracket... this will then fit in two slots on your case... so the dvi and tv-out will be on the bottom low profile bracket and the vga(d-sub) output will be on the second bracket ...

installation should take around 10 minutes and modifications around the same so it shouldnt take more than 30 minutes from start to finish

and the geforce 9500gt does not require additional power which is good.. simply fit the card and then install the drivers.... note: most pc,s will automatically detect a pci-express card and change the bios accordinally however some systems may require you to change the video settings in the bios... if this is the case go to "intergrated peripherals" and change from onboard video to pci-express ( or pci ).... also change the setting "init display first"( sometimes found in advanced chipset features) and change this also to pci-express.... this lets the bios know what video device to use... however not all bios version have this setting.... remember to "save and exit set up" when finished to save the changes to the cmos ... then you pc will restart when saving the changes

allthough low profile cards tend to be the lower end of the scale there are some powerful mid range cards avalible in low profile... and these include the following :

1) SPARKLE NVIDIA GTS 250 512MB DDR3 PCIE DVI/HDMI LOW PROFILE ( http://www.outo.co.uk/epages/es116561.sf… ) ... very powerful card for such a small card.... this has a 256bit memory interface and a 2200mhz memory clock... extremely good card

2) 9800GT 1GB DDR3 SLI LOW PROFILE HDMI/DVI ( http://www.techbox.co.uk/products.asp?pa… ) another powerful card with a 256bit memory interface ....

both these cards will run "cataclyms" on high detail.... and as long as your pc has a 450w or more psu then you will be fine.... or you could also upgrade your psu...hopefully the inspiron 530 will support a standard atx psu.... and a 450w psu can be snapped up for under £25 ( http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Component… )

i hope this helps nick, however any problems let me know

good luck mate !
