Will EVGA GeForce 8500 GT Video Card - 1GB GDDR2, PCI Express work with a Dell optiplex gx280?

I have a EVGA GeForce 8500 GT Video Card - 1GB GDDR2, PCI Express, SLI Ready, (Dual Link) DVI, VGA, HDTV

Video card. Im wondering if it will work with my dell optiplex gx280.

It does not fit in the case but I can leave the case open. I cant find out what size PSU is in this pc so thats why im asking thanks.|||You can go ahead and try it but it is possible that without the case being closed, the computer's cooling system won't work properly and the processor or something could overheat and that would shorten the life of the computer. Components may also be more vulnerable to EM interference if the case is left open. If you are certain you still have adequate cooling and electromagnetic interference protection, you can just leave it open.



Don't say we didn't warn you though if it doesn't work. As a general rule, low profile and laptop computers weren't meant to support awesomely powerful hardware. If you really need to do killer video, you might as well find a mid tower and make room for it. Especially if you are looking to do gaming, it won't be long before something else comes along that a tiny little 280 won't support.|||no, it will not fit. You need a low profile video card.
