I can't connect my monitor to my computer/video card (evga nvidia 9800GT 512 MB PCI-E)?

Hi, I recently bought an Acer monitor (X183 HB http://www.target.com/Acer-18-5-Wide-Screen-LCD-Monitor/dp/B001ER6CCI/sr=1-1/qid=1252641725/ref=sr_1_1/176-2519509-8555142?ie=UTF8&search-alias=tgt-index&frombrowse=0&rh=k%3Aacer%20monitor&page=1) so that I can use my custom-built PC. The video card that I have is an evga nvidia 9800GT 512 MB PCI-E video card (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130380). The VGA cable that came with the monitor doesn't connect to the video card output on the PC. I'm very disappointed by this and was wondering if there's an adapter that I need to buy or what I would need to do to connect this monitor to my PC. Thanks.|||You would need to buy a DVI-VGA adapter.

You will most likely already have this adapter -- many video cards come pre-packaged with one. Take a look in the box that used to contain the video card.|||The video card is a DVI out put, and the monitor is a VGA. click the link and you can buy the adapter.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as…|||there should be an emergency vga plug in at the back of your tower/box thing with a cap on it, maybe not, it leads directly to the video card, it should do u good
